Stage Designs

Window Blinded

Eric Alexander from Biltmore Baptist Church in Arden, NC brings us this awesome use of window blinds! (originally posted March 2016)

The inspiration behind this stage design came from a series called “Prodigal Me” based on the scripture from Luke 15:11-32. The design was made up of mini blinds. It is a fairly simple design hung from their upstage truss by black para cord. The blinds were fully open in order to catch the light from 12 Chauvet Slim Par Pro RGBA fixtures. The LED bars in between the blinds were Chauvet COLORado Batten 72’s. As an added texture element, we were using their moving lights (Martin Mac 2k performance) on the blinds occasionally.

The whole project cost around $180 from Lowe’s using the Project Source blinds and a couple of packs of para cord. The blinds were the 47.5″x64″ size.
