Stage Designs

Unstoppable

Rohan Satyavrata from The Assembly of God Church Kolkata in Kolkata, India brings us this cool design with homemade blinders. (originally posted June 2015)

The theme for their youth conference was Unstoppable. They wanted to create the impression of a vehicle coming head on with bright headlights. The lights used were made of very cheap metal bowls and cost about a dollar (60 rupees) each along with a bulb. There were 8 eight rows of 5 lights each which was connected to a dimmer pack.

The lights were attached to strips of plywood (painted black) so that they could be mounted vertically using steel wire to a pole above and secured into the floor. In the middle of the stage, they had an LED wall display which was used to show song lyrics, presentations and also the live feed of the event. In addition to this, there were a few other LED par lights and Par 64 cans which were used to light up the stage and add some color.

Apart from the cost of renting the LED display, everything was relatively cheap to make.
