Shadows

Shawn Ames from Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, MO brings us this great use of silhouettes.

They were preparing for a series called “Crescendo” but knew they had a special Veteran’s Day service in the middle of it.

The shadow box fronts were simply 2×3 lumber and a flat queen sheet from Wal-Mart. They cut the different elements for behind out of 1″ blue styrofoam. They noticed that for the shadow to look good using LED fixtures, they needed the foam cut outs to be as close as possible to the sheet.

The flag for the Veteran’s Day service was borrowed from a local funeral home.

Around the drums they didn’t have a full enclosure since their normal one was behind the flag. So surrounding the drums were home made sound baffles. They helped cut down the projection of the drums and were built for about $12 each.

They consisted of 2×4 lumber, pink wall insulation, and a twin sheet from Wal-Mart.

I like several of your ideas. How did you make the honey comb objects in the center?

  2. Shawn Ames says:

Thank you so much. The honeycombs are actually a rose brand product we purchased years ago we try to reuse them every now and again for different things.
