Parable Pages

Lindsay Hefner from Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City, OH brings us these parable pages attached to stage flats for their youth design.

Their student ministry building, the Avenue, is a shared and multi-use space. So stage design is limited to movable stage flats. For this design, Bible pages were stapled to the flats, which were painted black first. Then 11” x 14” enlarged colored copies of red letter pages were added over the bible pages. Then Styrofoam letters were cut spelling their title, Parables, then painted rusty red. Long headless nails were used to hang the letters onto the flats.

Awesome job! Very creative.I love anything done with any kind of paper. Did anyone object to you ripping up bibles? Where did you get them?

    • Lindsay Hefner says:

We used bibles that were torn up from years of use so no one objected giving them new life in this way :)

This is horrifying. The Parables sign is nice but even if the Bibles were worn, there is an appropriate, respectful way to deal with them and this isn’t it. Think about what you are doing. You are ripping up the Word of God to use as decor. You aren’t “giving it new life” you have desecrated it.
