Off the Grid

Jeff Abbott from Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, MI brings us this great grid set. (Originally posted March 2014)

This set was made from three colors of Coroplast (white, clear, and grey). The 4 x 8 sheets of Coroplast were pre-cut to 18″ x 24″, then cut on a wooden template Jeff created. The rough cut panels were held in place by a vacuum clamp powered by a compressor, that allowed the inside and outside profile to be cut cleanly.

Jeff created another jig to drill four holes in the panels in the same spot. The panels were suspended with wire pre-cut and bent to lengths. All the panels were suspended from top boards with holes drilled at the desired increments. The different colors of Coroplast allowed light to be reflected differently which created some very dynamic looks.
