Mountains in Fences

Josh Garcia from NewSpring Church in Anderson, SC brings us this awesome LED mountain set design.

From Brad Koone: This set was inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains. We built the main structures out of schedule 40 pipe and fencing from Home Depot that we then attached Elation Flex Pixel tape to with the metal channels. In the center is a 12′ x 21′ Da-Lite screen rear projected by a Barco HDX Flex 20k. The three upside down V’s around the proscenium are truss and schedule 40 with Elation ACL 360i’s and 360 Bars. Also in the rig we have Elation Platinum 15r and HFXs as well as ChromaQ Color Force 72s, Chauvet MK2s, Chauvet Sixpar 300s, SlimPar pros, and Elation Sniper 2Rs. All driven by a High End Full Boar 4. For Christmas we added fake snow and Christmas trees with ornaments across the stage.

We had multiple planning meetings where our directors and LDs worked on the design as well as meetings with our creative team to make sure the content they were creating for Christmas and the set design meshed well together. This was such a fun set to work closely with our creative team to have custom mo-backs that are synced to the songs are band is playing.

We struck our previous set Sunday after our last service then built this set from Monday to Thursday the following week.
