Stage Designs

Linebackers

Jeremy Framstad from Grace Community Church in Fremont, Ohio brings us this great PVC design.

From Jeremy: This stage set was inspired by a Hillsong united concert our music and arts staff went to. We loved how they had so much downlight at their concert and we wanted to try to do the same thing.

Each of the 4 trusses were 40 feet long and were rigged on the floor and winched into place. Each truss had LEDs inside as truss warmers and LEDs, Beam Lights, and Moving Spots hanging them. Over the past 10 years every year we’ve purchased a couple new segments for various sets and stages and now we have a bunch to do sets like this. Just make sure when you are purchasing truss it is all from the same manufacture and comes with load ratings and safety information.

The back drop was made of 2″ white PVC pipe cut at different lengths. We spent some time playing around with different layouts and heights, but ended up with 6 foot, 8 foot, and 10 foot lengths. 8 foot plywood sheets were painted black and made into boxes. In each box we drilled evenly spaced holes for the pipes to slip into. LED tape was run across the boxes to uplight the pipes.
