This set design was based on the Pyramid trees by Northside United Methodist Church. They made 10 different sized trees for use in two different buildings. 1-12′ 2-10′ 2-8′ 2-6′ 1-4′ 2-3′ trees.
Richard began with a 2×4 base at various widths—using 1″x12′ angle molding to give the sides a little more strength. He added a 4″ wood block at the top and then cut the moldings to length and nailed them in using a brad/nail gun. He stretched paper vellum over the edges that was sprayed with 3m spray adhesive. (Using a well ventilated area is crucial.) The vellum stood up better than he planned. Rolls of vellum were cheap since his plan is to take them apart and store them.
He used any LED cans he could find to light the trees.
