Stage Designs

Hazy Texture Walls

Josh Williams from Velocity Church in Taylors, SC brings us this repurposed stage design for their Christmas stage.

They had created some panels they really liked earlier in the year, and wanted to utilize them again for their Christmas design.

They recut the panels to be a little more narrow and framed them together with 2×4’s and let them run up the walls on either side of the screen. In between each panel they wired up Edison bulbs that ran to individual channels on dimmer packs.

Materials:
Existing panels (previously shown on this site under “Clouded Walls“)
2x4s (3 per side)
100 ft extension cord
16 various shape Edison bulbs
16 light sockets
16 plugs

Lighting:
Other than the edison bulbs, they utilized lighting they already owned by mounting Colorstrips to the side of each panel. They were going to mount some more 2x4s to allow the light to come out and hit the panels more at an angle, but just hadn’t done that yet.

Because the panels were already built, it only took two days to complete the project. They had to cut and reframe the panels, and wire each light into the socket and plug, and then reDMX.
