Happily Ever Before and After

Patrick Davis from Word of Faith | Church in the City in Buford, GA brings us their stage remodel.

They wanted to update their stage. Budget: $1500.

Most of their money was spent redoing their actual platform, with only $560 going to the scenic elements.

To create the tall columns, they built wood frames, painted them black, and wrapped white Muslin fabric around them. The 6 columns (6′, 8′, and 10′) cost around $100. To light them they used some American DJ Par36 RGB LED pin spots they already had.

For the Weave section, they used Coroplast and a wooden frame (with a 1/2″ plywood base) to hold the Coroplast sheets up. To light the 6′ versions, they used their 2 remaining Par36’s, and for the 14′ versions, they used American DJ 50RGB LED light bars. These cost around $160 total, with about $300 in materials for the building materials.

Great work. Question: Does the choir sings in the middle during praise and worship? Also, what’s the actual size of that stage?

      • Randy says:

We have 3 females and 1 male that lead praise and worship for us. The females stand center stage, the male is also our keyboard player. The actual stage is 40’x 12’x 2′.

how much was the coroplast material all together?

    • Randy says:

Around $120-$130. We used 10 sheets and the cost was $12.18 per sheet from a local sign company here in Georgia(alumapanel.com).
