Guarding Gutters

The Design Team from Journey Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN brings us this gutter guard stage design. (originally posted May 2016)

They have spent about $300 for the supplies. They had 4 adults and a couple of teens working on the project for three evenings.

First, they had to make panels out of 2″ x 1/4″ thick pieces of trim that were 8′, 10′, and 12′ feet long. They spray painted them black to blend in with their black backdrop. The next day they stapled the gutter guard panels to their frames. For hanging, they used jack chains of different lengths.

The panels on the outside were simply gutter guards.

Love it! How are you guys lighting it? What fixtures? How many? Looks great!

    Mike,
I’ll get the fixture names the next time I’m at church. We are utilizing them different now.

In this picture, we were using a mixture of short throw and long throw cheap led fixtures. We had four lighting the center section crossing each other and then one on each tell side panel. Then on a light bar on each side of the stage we had a long throw lighting the top of each side.

We later swapped out the side lighting with some strip lights and it looked better.

    Hey Richard,

Thanks for the reply! You said you swapped out the lighting with strip lights. Is that like LED strip tape? I’ve got a bunch of that left over from a previous design that I’d love to implement somehow if we go this direction. Let me know what you find out about the lighting fixtures!

Really awesome design! My church uses a similar design as well!

Hi I was wondering where did you get the gutter guards. I live in Australia and it’s a little difficult to dine those exact ones. Thanks
    Darnelle.
