Mike from Word Of Grace Community Church in Sheboygan Falls, WI brings us this two color stage design.
Inspired by his three year old son, Mike decided to construct this design on a larger scale. His son brought home some crafty art project they were creating in their Sunday morning childrens service.
Mike constructed the cross from half inch plywood framed by 1×4’s with compound miter cuts to create depth. He created the outer panels with simple bed sheets bought from Walmart framed with 1×4’s. Simple, white and blue.
I saw this design. Striking and simple. Lighting set it off perfectly.
Was there any particular lighting that you placed on the bed sheet frames? How did you attach the bed sheets to the frame that you created?
No particular lighting was used, just basic stage lights with gels. The sheets were just stretched and then stapled. Just a tip if you plan on doing that….wash and dry the sheets first, it takes the wrinkles out. Thanks for checkin it out
What are the smaller squares in the photo? More squares wrapped in bed sheets?
Yes they are, in fact, more bed sheets wrapped around a 2 x 2 frame. Light blue on one side with white on the other. A black ribbon stapled down the middle to hide the seam between the sheets.
AWESOME!!!! Mike is uber-creative and I am so glad he is a part of our team! Great job Mike!
How in the world did you do all this? This is amazing! We are looking at doing something new for our stage and this would be incredible!
What material did you use to create the letters? This would be a great semi-simple layout for our youth space!
AMAZING! Love it! Love God! Love People!
Hey, what a great design! I know I am late in the game on this design but what did you use for the letters, and how are they attached??
