Stage Designs

Bulbs and String

Lauren Robie from South Mountain Community Church in Draper, Utah brings us these awesome art pieces for their stage.

Lauren used 2 by 4″s to make a frame for these $11 4×8′ underlayment sheets that she stained black brown. She projected designs onto the boards, outlined them, and then hammered thin nails 2″ apart. She filled the design in with white yarn. Then she drilled holes 1″ and put string light bulbs through the back of the holes. Hung them with 6″ eyebolts. Total cost was just under $300.

Hello, thanks for posting this great idea!
Anyway, could you bring more light to the way the lighted letters are made…
is there an easy way to make those?

Hi, I was wondering if I could get the pattern for each animal? Thanks!

Hey! First I painted the letters on then I just drilled holes in the wood and poked a socket of the globe garden lights through the back and screwed the bulb in from the front.
