Wood Texture Wall

Mark Ellis from Hope Fellowship in Frisco, TX brings us this rough wooden textured wall.

They wanted to do something that had a lot of shadows in it. They found a place in the DFW area that sold used wood pallet slate boards. They got 4 pallets with 500 slates on them for both of their campuses. Their total budget was $1000. They mounted 2×4’s to the wall and then just started to place each slate at different angles. They also got floor lamp stands and found radio light bulbs. They lit the wood wall with their Elation design bricks.

just gorgeous! What’s your source for the radio bulbs? I’m considering doing a similar texture behind our drummer, to help with sound reflection, and I’d like to light it up.
    TIA!

  3. Nice texture! It looks like a huge piece, how does the back of the wall look? What is holding everything up?
