Winding Away

Steven Hall from Mod Scenes brings us this set for the Illinois Baptist State Associations 2015 Youth Encounter South Event in Mt Vernon, IL. (originally posted November 2015)

The entire audio, lighting, and scenic setup for this event was setup on a Saturday morning for an event the following Sunday. Everything in the room was temporary for the event. They setup all the gear to go up and come down quickly, including the scenic. It only took them about an hour and a half to assemble the entire set with 2 people.

They used 89 Crescent Moon panels from Mod Scenes. These are modular panels that are CNC cut from Coroplast. Each panel is 1’11” x 1′ 11″ and 1/4 thick. The panels connect with connectors made of rigid vinyl and 1/4 bolts. They used tie line to attached their Mod Scene panels.

The set was used as a rental and cost $1300 to rent for the event. The panels are only $90 for a set of 4 though, and the set could have been purchased for $2,070. You can purchase the panels at Modscenes.com

They used 36 American DJ mega profile pars to light the scenic. They used 10 Monoprice RGBW leds, and 6 Chauvet Rouge R1 spots to light the stage.
