Who Cars?

Marshall Allen from Point of Grace Church in Waukee, Iowa brings us this collision-filled stage design for their student ministry: The Dive.

For their series, Collide, they used various car parts from a local body shop that gave them to them for FREE. Most of the car parts were in good condition, so they used a sledge hammer to make them look like they had been in a car accident.

They secured the quarter panels, tires, and hanging hood on the sides of the stage and ceiling using chain. The white trunk lid in the middle was secured using two pieces of drywall corner beading that was screwed into the lid and into the floor. (It was very light and didn’t need a lot of support).

They lit the walls and car parts using 12 ADJ Mega Par Profile LED’s ($100/ea).

They already owned the lights and use them every week, so the entire cost for this set was FREE.

All it took was a call to a local body shop and a little luck that they had some good parts in their junk pile to make this set look awesome!

Sweet! Good job on making the call to the body shop. You just can’t beat free and creativity.
