Throwback: Towers and Angles

Jason Rollin from Zion Christian Church in Troy, MI did a little of mixing and matching with this stage design. (Originally posted February 2013)

They took two ideas and merged them into one: Destroyed Angel Wings and Splash.

The slats were bits of white Coroplast cut into streps and stapled onto black 2×4 frames. Then the towers were simply black weed block material grungily painted with white paint.

They already had the trussing and LED’s.

  1. Love the setup! This looks really engaging.

So what Kind of LED’s did you use, can you only use lighting bars or are LED 34 par cans suitable.

  3. your top horizontal truss for your center screen. Is that sitting on scaffolding, chain hoist or dead hung? or is there some form of truss tower behind your black weed towers? How many lumen are your projectors?

  4. Robert James says:

Great Design. Your use of uplighting on the textures of the towers is great.

This is my favorite so far. What a great use of design elements. The contrast of angels and materials is really really nice.

  6. Dan Stiles says:

Did you use the 4mm, 6mm, or 10mm coroplast?

    • Jason says:

      I believe it was 4mm.

        Jason,

We are looking at doing something similar for our easter set. I am the worship arts director over at Shepherd’s Gate Church over in Shelby Township and was wondering if I could bring our tech arts guy over and pick your brain about some of the things you did with this. Let me know. Thanks brother.

        Nathan
