Tetris Pieces Falling

The Tech Arts Team at The Chapel in Akron, Ohio brings us this stage design Alexey Pajitnov would be proud of.

This set consists of steel studs, white corrugated roofing material, Chauvet par 64 LED’s, and drywall screws. They made frames that are 8’x4′ with a 4′ stud in the middle to make 2-4′ boxes in one frame. They then put one 2’x4′ piece of roofing vertically and then one horizontally. They alternated how they were positioned in the frames, and then tried to hang them on the wall as randomly as possible. Cost was about $500 for the frames.

The lights were set up in pairs so they could have 2 different colors at a time.

I really like it! I’m working on a design for my youth group’s winter retreat in February and this has given me a few ideas. Well done!

    This is fantastic!

The best part, that is so simple is having the 2 colors present on the roofing material, giving the ability to match the video screen well! Too often with LEDs we have all the color options in the world, but forget that sometimes having the multiple colors present creates a great environment. Great Job!
