Shawn Ames from Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, MO brings us this design straight from a tattoo shop.
They used this design for a two month series titled, “Inked”. They attempted to mimic the look of a tattoo artist’s flash wall from inside a shop. The design consisted of two sets of 52 black and white tattoo looking designs drawn by a local tattoo artist and printed on 2’x2’ panels of Coroplast. They used a simple 2×4 frame structure to support the panels with a 3” gap between each one. Their budget for this design was right at $400. That covered the lumber, design, and printing.
They had to get creative about designing for their round building and centrally located screens. They also made a hallway between the stage elements and their rear wall to provide partially cloaked access to their stage for camera operators, speakers, etc…
Awesome Shawn! Great design and congrats on the post. Are you backlighting? If so, with what fixtures?
This is from back in February… we had experimented with backlighting it with both LED and some flood style fixtures but both took away from the “floating” look so we opted to not back light it.
Awesome, inspiring, relevant to today’s society…you guys really capture the essence to allow God’s Word to come alive!
Jane, I didn’t realise God’s word was dead…
we ALLOW it to come alive? really?
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
