Sparkle Strands

Lindsay Hefner from Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City, OH brings us this sparkly design for their student ministry.

For their relationship series, Ladies & Gentlemen, Lindsay created a stage design that was a classier nod to bathroom tile to match the look of the series graphic. She taped squares of white cardstock to fishing line and hung them in a tile pattern on the rim of their black stage flats so they were away from the surface and had some movement. To keep the black and white color scheme, she added clear bulbs to their clamp-on utility lights to finish the look.

Total cost was $15 w/o lights.

What size squares were cut for this?

  2. Freddy says:

Did you use Fishing line? Or a different type of string to hang them?
    Thanks.

  3. Hey Lindsay! What did you use as a frame to hold up the floating cardstock squares?

    Thanks

      Hey Spencer!
Our stage pieces have a 1″ x 1″ square lip around it so I wrapped the line around small finishing nails at the top and bottom to secure the pieces.

What dio you use for the squares?

Hello! Great idea. We are going to do something similar at our church but will use 4.25 x 5.5 inch cards. Did you need to put knots in the fishing line for the tape to stay on the line? My fear would be that with the stage lights the adhesive might soften and the cards might sip downward.
