Christmas Designs

Sliced

Josh Brage from Hope Crossing Church in Denver, CO brings us this design that features sliced trunks. (originally posted March 2016)

The design consisted of a handful of downed, dried aspen trees cut into “donuts” and then pin-nailed to some stabilizing backs. They used exposed vintage bulbs because wood + yellow light = natural wonderment.

Overall budget:
Wood Backing, Nails, Supplies $50
Downed, Dried Wood $Free

1 Saturday morning spent chainsawing the wood into circles
1 Thursday evening for installation
Some minor touchup later that week.

Love this aesthetic! Can you offer any guidance on the width the wood should be sliced? Also, how much did each panel weigh when finished?
