Modular Texture

Dylan Fresh from Calvary Baptist Church’s Drive Student Ministries in Clearwater, FL brings us this portable application of the metal screen material.

Dylan found That Old Rugged Cross and decided to make it portable. He needed to cover an area of 16′ X 24′.

So he started off by making frames out of 2X2 cuts of wood. He also embraced each corner of the sixteen 4’X5′ frames to make them even stronger.

Next they drilled a top hole and a side hole to every frame, so it would bolt together in one giant structure. After the drilling was complete they put the landscaping fabric on it to blackout the frame and not allow light through. After this was complete they crumpled up Bright Aluminum Screening and stapled it onto the frames.

Then they bolted the 16 separate pieces together to make the giant structure.

The project cost around $400. They completed it in one day with 5 people.
