Light the World

Luke Turner from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri brings us this cool world surrounded by dots of lights for their chapel.

The made the continents from a thick cardboard refrigerator box. They used a dremel tool to cut it out, then they made a decoupage with pages from an old Bible that had fallen to pieces.

Then they added lighting and hanging fixtures. They ordered it all online and connected them to dimmer packs so they could dim and set chases.

They bought the hanging chords from Paperlanternstore.com and added Edison-style bulbs to make a vintage look.

The whole budget only $150.

  • Box and Bible – free
  • Bulbs – ~$5 ea : x12 = $60
  • Socket cords – ~$5 ea x12= $60
  • extra extension cords – ~$30

Where were you able to get the bulbs and sockets so cheap? I found the bulbs for a decent price but I am having a hard time finding the sockets. thanks
