Special Event Design

In the Bayou

Wes Amick from Cross Timbers Community Church in Texas brings us this swampy stage design.

For their series, “Hooked”, they decided to turn their stages into a backwoods, cajun fishing shack using wood pallets.

They used LED bars inside pallets to give them some color and add a nice lighting element to the set. They stacked the pallets and fixed them to the back wall. Then they added hanging lanterns made from simple bulbs hung inside mason jars that they wrapped in twine to give it a rustic look. Finally, they went to Hobby Lobby and bought a couple of decorative nets, spanish moss, and other small fishing village pieces.

The total cost of this set was only $100 – lots of donations from congregants.
