Diane Chesnutt at Saint James United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL brings us this large Imagine sign.
Supplies:
- 1 piece 10′ X 40′ polysilk
- 2 pieces 10′ X 12 polysilk
- 8 pieces of foam board
- 3 gallons of grey paint – light, medium and dark
- Dry Wall Mud
- Furring strips
- 3 4’X4′ fence posts – to use as a base for the bottom
The word Imagine was cut out of the foam board. Each letter was cut in two pieces – top and bottom. The word was laid out and taped together on the back. Dry wall mud was applied randomly over the entire word. After drying, the board was painted in the shades of grey – the darkest grey in the center and the lightest on the end. The medium grey was applied between the two to help blend. Furring strips were screwed into the back. The top portion of the word was hung using black cord. The bottom was attached to the 4″X4″ posts with furring strips to anchor the bottom of the letters. The center of the “a”, “g”, and “e” were attached using fishing line and tape.
A piece of the 10′ X12″ polysilk was hung on each side. Griff clips were used to create the scrunched effect.
They used 7 LED BARS to light the back polysilk. The sides were lit using 2 LED PARS per side. On the IMAGINE CLOUD they used 8 LED PARS.
