Matthew Tallman from West Chester Church of the Nazarene in West Chester, OH brings us their Christmas stage design ideas.
The theme of their Christmas set last year was Come And See. The concept was centered on the idea of coming and seeing the Christ Child who was born.
They used a window concept to convey the idea of Come And See. Their set included 16 hand -uilt windows built from 2X2 strip board and painted white. They suspended the windows in front of their tapestry, which was also changed out for black cloth to make the windows stand out more. The windows were up lit using 6 Chauvet Colorstrips.
They also created a center window and attached a reflective white cloth to the back and used rear projection to project images through the window. They were able to utilize video animations such as snow falling on trees to give the audience a feeling they were looking out a window and watching the snow fall.
Other lighting included 4 Intimidator moving heads and par can up lighting for the trees.
