Matthew Strange from The Good Shepherd Church in Rutherford, NJ brings us their Christmas stage element.
At the beginning of the service, they had large, wrapped presents on the stage. They had gift tags with words like “grace, peace, joy, etc.”
After the pastor’s message, the worship team sand and an artist came on stage to unwrap each present. She stacked them together to reveal the image of Jesus that she painted earlier in the week. The goal was to communicate that all those gifts are found in Christ. He is God’s gift to the world.
In total they spent about $150 for boxes, paint and wrapping paper.
