Stage Designs

A Mighty Fortress

Joel Martin from Clovis Hills Community Church in Clovis, CA brings us there design inspired by Hoedown.

They purchased 80 pallets from a business owner in their church. The wall consisted of 62 pallets and the rest were used on the floor. Their stage is deep enough that they could build the wall on the floor upside down. The pallets were bolted together vertically, then a hole was drilled in each pallet, and a cable was run down the middle. They flipped each column so it was right side up. They lowered their truss and attached the cable. Then they raised the whole wall up at once.

They hung 20 light bulb strands from the grid above their stage and used 2 channels of dimming to control them.

The front of the stage was lined with mason jars filled with water and food coloring. They put some christmas lights around them to make it a little more visually interesting.

The wall was lit with 5 source four pars with orange gels on the floor.
