Cornerstone Creative via Ben Kolarcik from Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, VA brings us this 3D-looking, flat set piece.

They do an annual “Q&A Service” at the beginning of each year. Last year they decided it needed its own identity that also gave them a week of breathing room after holidays to ensure the follow up stage design could be implemented. Their lead graphic designer came up with a great graphic that branded this service. Instantly they thought of replicating the 3D lettering from the graphic. However, when they investigated the pricing for 3D letters at the size they were looking for (5ft or larger), it became cost prohibitive. So they looked into printing large 2D letters that maintained the shading and appearance of the 3D design.

A local large format printer was able to do a laser cut print onto Coroplast material which made the entire project extremely affordable, lightweight, and durable for storage. They simply hung each letter with fishing line through grommets on the letters allowing them to “float” in between their preexisting triangular trusses.

They lit each letter with an individual Chauvet COLORstrip MINI and lit each truss with a Venue ThinPar LED.

The only cost was for the letters which were under $200 for all three.

What company did you print through, or what type of printing companies print on coroplast.

Hey Joey! We have a friend who works with this company, but here is where we printed it: http://www.onthemark.com/

Check them out and I’m sure there’s a place similar that would be in your area!
