Greg Gates from The Point Church in San Jose, CA brings us this star showering brightness onto the manger scene.
They wanted the Christmas star to look like it was shining on the manger scene. So they found a silhouette image of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus on Google images. They build a shallow sheet and painted everything black. They used four 4×8 panels as a backdrop then hung muslin and used two floodlights with yellow gels. They already had the background Christmas trees and they found the star from Martha Stewart Christmas light ideas. The Christmas lights hanging behind the muslin were an afterthought that they thought worked well.

I write and speak about the creative process – especially for churches. Call me a resource for the church creative wanting to make their ministry better.
