Rick Jenkins from Sunset Hills Baptist Church in Nolensville, TN brings us this temporary stage transformation between their church and youth group.

The church gave the youth group their chapel for their Wednesday services. The only stipulation was that everything was transitional to accommodate weddings or other functions. So they couldn’t paint or add anything permanent.

So Rick created these 4×8 and 3×8 frames that he hung with hooks, eye hooks, and chain. He added black landscape fabric around the frames. Then he added some crumpled bright aluminum window screening on top of that.

He also added some landscape fabric behind the projection screen to block out light from the window in the center.

Finally, he added from LED Par 64s on the ground to light the texture panels.

Materials and costs:

  • Twelve 8ft firing strips – $1.50 each
  • Five 4×25 packages of window screening from Lowes – $27 each

Thanks Denise but I owe the “creative” inspiration to this site. I am so glad I found it and hope to move beyond our youth space in to our main worship area design soon! God Bless!

Any way you can help with a materials list on the church stage set up

We did that at the church I serve on the tech crew at. It looks awesome if you get the chance to give it a black backdrop. I just wonder what it would look like with the lights cascading down from the top ?
