Cheaper Legos

Vince Farrell from Christ Community Church in Hopkinsville, KY brings us another Lego design, only for even less expensive.

They went for a Lego theme in their “Together” message series. They opted to use refrigerator and dishwasher boxes instead of Coroplast. Their local Lowes and appliance shop were generous to keep some boxes aside for them.

For the interlocking pieces, they used large paper plates to trace circles onto 4×8 sheets of Styrofoam. It took 3 stacked on top of each other to get the desired height. Then they paper mache’ed them before painting to ensure the proper look.

They didn’t purchased anything, but the paint, styrofoam, and liquid starch could be purchased for $50.

They also built their own podium made from an off-brand Lego product.

We should be careful trying to “dress up” our service, building, & sermon so much that we distract from the gospel, thus overshadowing the cross, & somehow emptying its power from our message. (1 Cor. 1.17)

What is the backdrop made out of?
