Cas Rump from Pittsburgh East Community Church in Pittsburgh, PA brings us this design using scattered slats…looking like an exploding house.
They built this design for their Easter series, Unstoppable. They designed it to look like the side of a house when an unstoppable object flies through it.
To create the effect they primed thine pieces of luan and cut them into strips to look like siding. Then they build frames out of 2×4′s and used a staple gun to attach the pieces of luan to the frame. They used UV paint to paint words describing the unstoppable things from God on the wall, and had two UV lights hanging from the ceiling to light the words up.
I write and speak about the creative process – especially for churches. Call me a resource for the church creative wanting to make their ministry better.

What kind of side screens are those?
Ashley – the side screens are 18 total flat screen tvs connected to a Mac using a lot of triple-head-to-gos. We control them using provideoplayer.
Sue – sadly, I didn’t get a picture of the framework.
Mike – we use all Martin lights for the intels (7 Mac 250s, 4 Mac 2000s, and 6 Mac 759s) and the rest are Chauvet pars and strips
