Dustin Blay from Family Harvest Church in Tinley Park, IL brings us this simple but twinkly Christmas design.

They bought 30 strands of LED Christmas indoor/outdoor lights. They were 16 feet in length and they hung them 3 feet in front of their back curtain. The whole set cost about $270.

The rest was accomplished with lighting and Christmas trees.

You know, I have always wanted to do this for a Christmas set but always wondered if it would look tacky… Family Harvest Church made it look good! I may just have to do something similar this year at my church.

I assume the lights couldn’t be dimmed? That’s the only issue I’ve had with them! But it looks brilliant, love the purple.

You can dim them using any standard dimmer. We had lights just like this on our Christmas set in 2010. Ran them on a standard 2 channel Chauvet dimmer. Worked great.

Sometimes you have to put a “phantom” load on the lights. A 20 watt music stand light hidden behind the set might be all you need. It’s really no big deal. fyi
